Instructions for Measuring Window Blinds  The window blinds or window shades can be mounted inside the window frame, casing or mounted outside to the wall above the window. You must have enough depth to allow room for the window blinds(Click here to download the PDF with illustrations) should you want to mount the window blinds or window shades inside a window casing. The specifications for window blinds or window shades are usually provided on the minimum depths to mount them. You should not choose a cornice style valance if the depth of your window frame is not deep enough to "flush mount" your blinds.
